Best Time to visit Tarangire

June to October: Best for Wildlife Viewing
This dry period is from June to October; the best for visiting Tarangire whereby wildlife viewing is spectacular owing to the elephants, zebras and several other animals that are easy to spot. Leopards and lions are active during this period, and with the sparse vegetation, the area is ideal for game drives and photography.
January to February: Newborn Animals and Babies
This period is from January to February, and during this short period of rain, Tarangire is transformed into a beautiful area to spot newborn animals. The presence of baby elephants and even antelopes during this period helps attract predators, and thus, this is the best time for wildlife interaction. Unlike other peak seasons for tourism, this period is relatively off-peak, and therefore, tourists during this period have the place to themselves, albeit some light rain.
November to May: Peace and Quiet of Tarangire
Tarangire is famous for hosting resident species such as hornbills and ostriches. During the other period of the year, November to May, these birds become ideal for bird watching as they form a ready host for other birds.
